If you are suffering from hearing loss, getting a hearing aid is the first step towards a better quality of life. But where do you start?
The first step is to contact us at (863) 386-9111 to schedule your hearing evaluation. Your audiologist will run through a series of tests to determine your type and degree of hearing loss. This is important, as some types of hearing loss cannot benefit from a hearing aid.
Once your audiologist has determined a hearing aid is the right form of treatment for your hearing loss, you will be presented with all of the hearing aid options, from style to level of technology to available features. You and your audiologist will go through each style of hearing aid, from those that are practically invisible to those that wrap around the outside of the ear. Each one of these styles has their own set of pros and cons. Your audiologist will also help you determine which features are necessary and which are not. This will ensure that you only pay for what you actually need and also that you will choose a style that accommodates your required features.
After carefully considering all of your options and choosing the hearing aid that best fits you, the hearing aid is ordered. When your hearing aid arrives, you will be scheduled for a fitting. Your audiologist is able to use all the information they gathered during your hearing evaluation to program the hearing aid to best fit your level of hearing loss. Before you leave, you will be shown how to use all the features of the hearing aid and how to perform all the daily maintenance.
Central Florida Hearing Services wants you to be completely satisfied. If you have any questions about your hearing aid after the fitting, do not hesitate to call us or come in. Follow up visits will be scheduled around your availability to ensure everything is working, as it should be.
