An audiologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in evaluating, treating and managing hearing loss, tinnitus and balance problems. Audiologists go through rigorous training, earning a masters or doctoral degree (AuD, PhD, ScD or EdD) in audiology from an accredited university. They are required to complete an internship and pass a licensing exam. All this training makes audiologists the most qualified professionals to perform hearing and balance tests, provide treatment and if need be, refer the individual for a medical or surgical evaluation.
Audiologists can be found working in many different settings: hospitals, schools, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat doctor) offices and as is the case with Central Florida Hearing Services, private audiology practices.
Losing your hearing is daunting; having someone with you every step of the way can help. An audiologist is that person. We here at Central Florida Hearing Services are the only independent private practice in the Sebring area that participates in all parts of the process. This means we are the ones that perform the diagnostic testing, we work with you to decide which treatment option is right and we perform all your follow up visits, to ensure your disorder continues to be properly managed and that you are happy with the treatment results.
